Two truckers talking during a break from driving.

Trucker #1: How long have you been on the road now?

Trucker #2: Nine days. I just need to get to Chicago and then I'll be heading (back) home / I'll be on my way (back) home.


Please make this sentence as natural as possible. You don't have to use on of my suggestions if you have something better. Is the 'future continuous tense' a good choice?
