Hello,

1. He washed the dished and then he dried them.

2. He heard the explosion and he therefore phoned the police.

Here two clauses have been joined using 'and' coordinator along with 'then in #1 and 'therefore' in #2.

These sentences are the compound ones.

Is it correct to use 'then' and 'therefore' along with 'and' in a compound sentence?
