Hi everyone! I have questions about "and" and "comma". Please help me tell them apart because they have the same fuction in my language. Thanks in advance.

1/ She's very tall, as is her mother.
2/ She's very tall and as is her mother.

3/ Times have changed and so have I.
4/ Times have changed, so have I.

(1) or (2) and (3) or (4) Could you tell me which one is right?

And a marginal question ^^!. Please help me to pick the right answer.
