Q) Does #1 read "Facebook and Twitter" is one SNS?

I think they are grammatical, but they're incorrectly structured.

They seem to imply that Facebook and Twitter, along with SNS, play a huge role in society.

I guess SNS stands for "social networking service".

I'd probably say:

We live in a world where social networking services, such as Facebook and/or Twitter, play an important role in society.

Ah, yes. I guess the grammatical number wasn't immediately apparent to me in the acronym. I think it's better to spell it out in full.
