And / Or

Are these sentences correct? What does it mean when I use 'or' and what does it mean when I use 'and' ?

1. One of the options –f and –c has to be specified

2. One of the options –f or –c has to be specified

3. If you need to display more lines on either side, then use the -A and -B options. (Does 'either' mean 'one or the other' or 'one and the other'?)

4. If you need to display more lines on either side, then use the -A or -B option.

If only one option is to be specified, then it is -f (that has to be specified) or -c (that has to be specified). If ... more lines on either side means If ...

If only one option is to be specified, then it is -f (that has to be specified) or -c (that has to be specified).

If ... more lines on either side
means
If ... more lines on one side or if ... more lines on the other side.

If both -A and -B must be used, say -A and -B.
If -A can be used or -B can be used (with the same effect)

Either can mean both and each which is the more usual use one and

the other of TWO .
