The following quotation is attributed to Charles Bukowski:

Resist simply means pulling out his balls, and less are the sweetest chance is victory.

My question is this:

Why is it "and less are" and not "and less is"?

I don't know. Bukowski seems to have a lot of vulgar things to say about *****, and i haven't the patience to wade through them all. Good luck!

I don't know. Bukowski seems to have a lot of vulgar things to say about *****, and i haven't the patience to wade through them all.

This entire segment of the sentence is a grammatical mess.

It makes no sense. I believe it is a misquote full of typos.
