And in the starting of a sentence?

I sometimes get confused that whichever I was told not correct in my school days are being used very often nowadays. One of those is that starting a sentence with And.

Is that correct to start a sentence with And?

Generally speaking, yes, but it doesn't occur often. And you've got to be a very good writer to know how to use

it correctly in your piece of writing. If in doubt, I'd suggest that you avoid doing this.
