And and

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if this sentence is correct?

-The item serves to display a list of available forms, and insert and open a new window.

There are two separate sentences, but the second one doesn't have a subject. (is this correct?)

Also, I'm not sure if the ", and verb and verb" is correct either. (does it need a comma?)

There is something suspicious about that sentence. "Insert" needs an object (what is being inserted?). How can an item open a new window?
