"And" after last semicolon

Hi.

"He was a very good man, though not intelligent; an honest man, even if he was not averse to white lies, though only when necessary; (and) a kind man, even if he was often naive, lacking as he did in firm convictions."

My question: is the "and" conjunction necessary where indicated? My research shows that it is up to me, but I'd like to make sure. Thank you.

Anonymous My question: is the "and" conjunction necessary where indicated? Yes, I would keep it, because what you actually have is a list with internal commas.
