Analysis of poetry/MrPedantic, nona the brit, Mister Micawber

Select a poem from a book or go to the internet to find poems that have been published in books. Write a response to the poem, much like a journal entry. reflect of the poem by comparing or contrasting it with other ideas encountered or with experiences you have, had by questioning it, by agreeing or disagreeing with the ideas expressed by the poet, by pointing out particular lines or idea you particulary like or dislike. To begin with I would like to say that I agree with the entire poem. It reflcets me in many ways. When I first read it , it reminded me of a friendship I had with a guy. The first paragraphe really was a eye catcher because he told me so many lies and I believed him. One of my favorite ones is when he said that peole did not want him to conversating with me. Another one is when he clamied that he really wanted to be my friend and possibly start a relationship. Being so naive and immature at the time,I belived him. As time passed by I started to see the real him. Still trying to fight from facing the truth, I started to deny it. Knowing the entire time he wa a compulsive liar. The fourth paragraph of the poem is another part that caught my attention. I liked it because I knew that he wanted me to walk around with my head handing down; thinking that know one else would want me or even look my way but me being the beautiful black intellectual young lady I am, I proved him wrong because when I see him not only do I smile but I also have a walk with it. Most importantly I admired the last paragraph when she wrote, "Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gae,I am the dream and the hope of the slave. I rise I rise I rise. It made me think of how my mother preached to me and my sister about boys. Realizing at that tim I really did not pay her any mind but thinking back to whaty my mother told me, I ralize that she not taught me someting but I learned something. I often wonder why some people take other people kindness for weakness. I can say that my mother taught me well and when I say well, I mean in a way that everyone should treat people the way they wanted to be treated. One important thing I can say about this poem is that it is also an encouragement poem. Because when you think that you will always be on the ground and never be able to stand,this poem give you hope.
