an URGENT question on PREPOSITIONAL PHRASES

Would anyone be so kind as to tell me whether I have analysed the underlined prepositional phrases correctly:

1.They talked on and on about the play. (adv.prep.phrase modifying the verb 'talked')
2. I asked her a question about the play. (adv.prep.phrase modifying the verb 'asked')
3. She wanted to ask them about the play. (adv.prep.phrase modifying [a] the verb 'wanted' ; OR , the infinitive verbal 'to ask' ; OR, [c] the verb phrase 'wanted to ask' - i.e. if I can call this as such?)

I'm a bit uncertain about the analysis of item no. (3).

Many thanks.
