An old Germanic linguistic feature

I read this sentence on the website of an American PC magazine, PCWorld:

If you like the look of the full-screen Start menu but still rock a mouse and want to stick to windowed Metro apps, fear not: You can have your cake and eat it too.

It's nice to see that even though the auxiliary do was needlessly introduced in the 16th century, some remnants of the old usage persist. Emotion: smile
