An Interview or a interview?

Hi,
I have a quick question. I don't know if we should say, "I have an interview on Monday." or " I have a interview on Monday." I think the first one should be right since Interview has the vowel sound "i" but I don't know why it is so hard to actually say it out? Is it because normally nobody pays attention pronounce the article when they are talking?

Thanks,
