[an internationally famous singer] vs [singer famous internationally]

(1a) Bob is an actor famous internationally. He will be holding an autograph session in the city next week. (my version)

(1b) Bob is an internationally famous actor. He will be holding an autograph session in the city next week. (my non-native English speaking friends' version}

My friends think "an actor famous internationally" sounds unidiomatic. Do you agree with them?

Many thanks.
