An interesting Escapade into Mount Dragon King - part 1
A mountain called "Dragon King Mountain" is situated behind my college. Not many people visit there because it's secluded and therefore not a famous tourist attraction. However, it do have many interesting and mysterious features about it. I have never been there and it fascinate me very much. So I decided to take an adventure into the mountain with my friend Lin.
It was a cloudy and not too hot summer afternoon when Lin showed me around in the mountain. We came to the entry of the mountain where we saw a big old-looking archway into which the three Chinese characters meaning Dragon King Mountain were inscribed. We walked through it and saw the inside of the mountain. The mountain is enriched with forests and therefore there was a clean and fresh vibe about this place. Along both curbs of the path are rocky, grassy and woody hills and short cliffs. We walked on a long and inclined road, which was made of pavement. The road is a bit sinuous so we took several turns when we hiked up the mountain.
"Why is this mountain called Dragon King Mountain? Is there a mythology about this place?", I asked my friend Lin.

Thank you for your correction, Ms Al. Now I know I can't go inside the mountain. I just meant to say we began to hike up the mountain(though the mountain does have a cave, I will get into it berfore long).

"When" is mostly used for the same time, at a point in time.
When we got to the top of the mountain, we rested.
As we climbed the mountain, we looked for signs of wildlife.
