An Instead of A with LP?

Hi,

It sounds better, and is easier to read, but I do not believe the following sentence would be correct: "I have an LP I would like to give you."

Because it is a constanant, should it not be: "I have a LP I would like to give you"?

Any rules on this?

It is the sound of the letter and not the letter itself that matter. For example we would say 'an hour' becasue the 'h' is not aspirated. In yor example the first sound is the 'e' sound so 'an' is correct.
