An incident happened in the river

It was a hot day afternoon last Tuesday. Peter and John went home after school. Peter had an idea. He suggested to go for a swim near their house. John agreeed (with him). Then, they brought their swimming trunks to the river together.

They felt excited as they were swimming in the cold, thrilled river. Suddenly, Peter saw a thing like a crocodile floating towards them. They screamed loudly / screamed out for help and jumped out of / from the river.

When the thing came nearer to the river bank, they were relieved. It was a driftwood / It turned out to be a driftwood. They laughed at each other. In the evening, they walked home together. It was a really unforgettable experience.
