"an" historical or "a historical"

I'm not sure if I should be using "an" or "a" before "historical" in this sentence:

We hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity to create a historical keepsake.

We hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity to create a n historical keepsake. In this sentence I would use "an" because the way I say "historical" sounds like I am missing out the "h" sound, which means I pronounce it (isstorical). However you could use "a historical" if you make sure to clearly pronounce the "H" - "a Historical (saying HISStorical)
