An expression required: Beat someone until they are blue

Hi

In my language, there is a verb whose literal translation would be the word "blue" -- it is used (mostly figuratively) to mean 'hit someone until they are blue'.

If Father sees you use his guitar, he'll blue your face.
If Father sees you use his guitar, he'll blue you.

The principal blued the child who was caught cheating in the exam.

Any suitable English equivalent?

Thanks,

Tom

Bruises are often blue, so look at the verb 'bruise'. But it is usually used literally, not figuratively.
