Vocabulary

an expression

Hello,

I have come across an expression on the Internet but I don't think that I understand it fully. Here is the sentence:

''I am just being super serious in a tux jacket. Happy hump day?''

So could you please tell me what ''Happy hump day?'' means in the sentence above?

Thank you

"Hump day" is a slang term for Wednesday. If you think of the work week as a hill, shaped like a camel's hump, you spend Monday and Tuesday climbing up the hill. On Wednesday you are at the top of the "hump," and after that it's easier because you are going downhill, speeding towards the weekend.
