What's the difference between these two sentences?

A. There is a man at the door.

B. There is some man at the door.

Of course they are not the same, students are asked to tell the difference in this exercise.

Some here can refer to an unknown person or thing(E.g: Some idiot has taken the bath plug.)

OR

we can use some to suggest that we arenot interested in somebody or something, or that we do not think much of him/her/it(E.g: Mary's gone to America to marry some sheep farmer or other.)

Mary's gone to America to marry some sheep farmer or other, how is it different from

Mary's gone to America to marry a sheep farmer or other.

The use of a indicates that you have no information about sheep farmer and does not differ which one.
