An excerpt taken from something

Emotion: party!!! Hello!

http://www.nutritional-healing.com.au/content/articles-content.php?heading=CFS%20-%20Pacing
The following is an excerpt taken from Dr. Sarah Myhill's excellent book on treating Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), which is available online for free. Pacing of physical/mental/emotional activities is extremely important and if not done properly will prevent improvement.

Would it be correct to say "an excerpt from something" instead of "an excerpt taken from something"?
