An exam question asked in Turkey

KPDS 2001 May(seventeen string)

Bethoven's seventeen string quartets hold ___ the same position in chamber music ___ his symphonies hold in the orchestral repertoire.

A) as / that

B) much / as

C) quite / whether

D) just / what

E) thus / than

The answer to the question is B. There is no problem with that one. If the choice D were just /as what, would it be correct? What would you say then? Thanks

hold just the same position in chamber music as what his symphonies hold in... I'd call it possible, but too casual for the topic. As that which would improve the comparison.

When did he write the seventeenth quartet?
The last count I've heard had him at sixteen quartets!
I guess they're counting the one-movement Grosse Fuge as a complete quartet.

This is nothing CJ, There are funnier questions. By the way, is KPDS still easy like that Yigitçe?

Well, there are much worse questions which have two correct answers or with no answers at all. Some paragraphs are quite detailed and test not the knowledge of English but that of the subject matter.
