An etching after Mantegna's Camera degli sposi

Hello,

in the book "Parrot and Olivier in America" by Peter Carey I came across the following sentence:

"As an artist I was certainly her inferior, but among the remaining items from the Duc de Tilbot’s library was an etching after Mantegna’s Camera degli sposi which had served as my instructor in the ancient art of foreshortening."

When the author speaks about "an etching after Mantegna's Camera degli sposi" does he speak about Mantegna's own etching, or about another etching made after pattern/ model of Mantegna's Camera degli sposi?

Thank you for help

The phrase "after (a work of art or artist)" means something not attributed to the artist, but created in the manner of his/her style.
