Hello everyone, I hope that you all have a nice monday! ![]()
My question about how many meanings there is in this sentence.
- I talked to some people from Japan with my friends.
How many do you think?
I think, it is just one.
That’s “I and my friends talked to some Japan people.”
Someone said: “Its meaning can be “I talked to some Japanese people who are with my friends.””
But I don’t believe in it.
Because In my sentence, “some people” and “with my friends” are not next to each other. There is “from Japan” between them, so “with my friends” can’t refer to “some people”.
Finally, There is just one meaning here I think.
What are your thoughts?
Thank you in advance
” But I don’t believe in it. I don't believe it either. I only see one meaning, and that's the same as yours.
