An asylum

Teachers,
Is the article in this sentence sound natural?
Ever since I was released from an asylum, I've been having chronical panic attacks.

(OK, I wasn't released from anywhere, it's for a short story for my English class)

To sound more natural, get to the point quickly:


I've been having chronic panic attacks ever since I was released from the asylum. (verb before details)
Or, even shorter:

I've had chronic panic attacks ever since I was released from the asylum. (chronic imp

Both are fine. My option just happens to be shorter (which may be undesirable in the context).

I can never know exactly what the author intends to say. So I like to provide options and the benefits of each.

English has so many different ways to say the same thing. Seeing several examples at the same time can help make connections that pure definitions cannot.
