An article necessary?

Hi,

I always wonder if we need to put an article after prepositions.
Which one is correct?
1. What courses do you have for "the" next term?
2. What courses do you have for next term?

The preposition (for) has nothing to do with the. The crucial word is next. If a period of time is referred to, no article is usually used if the starting point is the current moment : I'll see him next week.
