An Article before certain places?

Hi,
i encountered some problems on whether to put an article in front of some places.
For example, if i want to say I am going to Seattle's premium outlet, should i put "the" in front of the Seattle? In my grammar book, it says (right tense) in the US names with center are without the like I went to Lincoln Center. If I say I am going to Metrotown, should it require an article? Also, if i say," i am going to West Edmonton Mall." should i add "the" and should the Mall be capitalized?

Thanks,

Ryan

Hello Ryan, we usually use no article before proper nouns, but various types of nouns do take them, like rivers ( the Mississippi River ) but not lakes ( Beaverhills Lake ). And some, like your mall, are liable to be used either with or without 'the'-- it is a matter of local usage ( Mall is capitalized if it is part of the name); sorry I can't help you there: West Edmonton Mall didn't exist last time I was there.
