An Argumentative paragraph

Hi everyone! well I've written an argumentative paragraph and I need your opinions about it. Firstly, I'm supposed to refute and concede some points given by my opponents who say that Marijuana smoking should be legalized by the government.
Their arguments are the following:The government does not have the right to tell us what we can or cannot consume./ It is useful as a medicine. Thank you in advance.
People are often divided into two sides when it comes to legalizing Marijuana. The side with legalizing Marijuana smoking says that the government have no right to tell us what we can or cannot consume. This can be accepted only if it is considered as a personal freedom. The government confined the consumption of Marijuana because the cost of the medical treatments for its consumer, whom they harmed their bodies when smoking it, overpass the cost of its sale and production, thus affecting negatively the whole community. Concerning its usefulness in the medical domain, it is only used under the control of a doctor, and ordered in small quantities as to calm patients who suffer from depression or even severe insomnia.
