an 180° pulse or a 180° pulse?

Hi

Please clarify whether I should use article 'an' or 'a' in the term "an 180° pulse".

Many thanks for your help in this regard

You should use 'a'. This is because 1 starts with the consonant sound 'w'. It is the sound of the first letter that matters, not whether it is actually a vowel or consonant (in this case o ne).
