Water is an important for our lives.





As water is uncountable noun, we can't use a or an.

so why 'AN' before important.

Please explain it.

Sun is a proper noun . As proper noun start with capital letter, but have noticed the sentences like

The sun is shining. is this sentence correct?

or
The Sun is shining.

"Water is an important for our lives." This is not a correct sentence. I can understand why "an" puzzles you. "Water is important for our lives." This is correct.

"sun" is not a proper noun. It does not start with a capital letter.

The sun is shining. Correct.
The Sun is shining. Not correct.
