AMPLIFIED / MAGNIFIED

I don't know if this is right.

1 during the adolescent years, drinking could be disasterous. When hormones kick in and you've had a plentiful amount to drink, your horniness is amplified/magnified.

2 Adolecsents are horny and the alcohol amplifies/magnified it.

Is amplified used like this and are the 2 sentences correct ; one used as the passive other the active?

thanks

Are you saying that both sentences are OK or that you can use magnified and amplified interchangeably?
