Hi,

what does "amount" mean in the following sentence, please?

Going for a walk every day hardly amounts to a healthy lifestyle.

1) Judging by the word "hardly" before "amount", does it mean that going for a walk every day isn't enough to consider my lifestyle healthy?

2) Could you suggest a similar word to replace the word "amount" in this sentence, please? Something more familiar.
