Amount of salary & salary

Hi all. I wish to know what is the difference between saying "amount of salary" and "salary". For example, in the context of conveying the fact that for employees to have high satisfaction, one of the important thing is to give them a reasonable amount of salary/ is to give them a reasonable salary.

What is the difference if there is any? which is more preferable and why? Does the same apply to the word "remuneration"?

Thank you indeed.

Just use "salary."

"Amount of salary" is redundant.

"Amount of money" is OK.

Usually people get paid more than just a salary. They get benefits like sick time, vacation time, and health insurance. So many of these surveys use the word "compensation" not "salary."
