Vocabulary

among/between

Would you tell me what is the differences between them? In my ears (is it a correct expression?), between sounds better.

"All four of these words carry the meaning of being what is necessary or desired, but there are a few subtle differences [among or between] them."

Hello. As I know, we usually use between for two things and among for more than two. ( My house, the river and the factory are seperate things) The university I study at is among the trees.

Hello. As I know, we usually use between for two things and among for more than two. However between is also used for seperate things.( Can be more than two)

The university I study at is between my house, the river and the factory.( My house, the river and the factory are seperate things)

The university I study at is among the trees.

I had the same impression, but I think in my example, perhaps since the words will be compared one by one, I guess between is more appropriate. Do you think so?

Yes, I think the same. i.e I'd say there are a few subtle differences between essential, obligatory, requisite, necessary.

P.S Sorry for delayed post. I'm really a beginner at the English language. Waiting for an expert for a proper answer. I'm sorry again.
