Vocabulary

Amid & fellow

Hi,
I looked up those words but couldn't find the meanings that I felt fit in.

The sentence is,
"Dylan's latest chart success comes amid suggestions that he is open to the idea of a musical collaboration with fellow rock legend Sir Paul McCartney."
Quoted from BBC at http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8037386.stm

My questions are,
What is "amid" suggestions? and
What does "fellow" mean in this context.
Thank you, I'd appreciate you people, always.

Hi, 1. Amid here means at a time of or during. The idea here is that the suggestions that he is open to a musical collaboration spanned over a period of, let's say, few weeks or months and during this time came his latest chart success.
