Vocabulary

Amend v emend; avoid v evade; admission v admittance; consequent v consequential; continual v continous

Hi,

I am reading a book about commonly confused words and I am afraid I still do not understand the difference between these:

amend v emend

avoid v evade

Are to avoid answering a question and to evade answering a question different in meaning?

admission v admittance

consequent v consequential (when it is not to mean significant)

continual v continuous

Thanks in advance for your help Emotion: smile
