AmE for "marrow"

I'd say "marrow squash" but I think that "vegetable marrow" would be understood. Some might say "zucchini", but it's not correct. Zucchini is not to be confused with marrow squash which looks like a larger version of the zucchini with white stripes.

"Marrow" is the AmE word for what you Brits perversely call "marrow."

Has anyone actually seen a marrow squash for sale in the US?

I believe that the only squashes of that shape and size that I've ever seen here are zucchini

Shame we don't tend to have the vegetable called squash here in Britain. Here, squash is a fruit drink - AIUI a subset of cordial.

It's spelled "zucchini," and I would have used it in the singular just as Sebastiano did in the sentence in question. There are two plural forms of "zucchini" in American English: "zucchini" and "zucchinis."
