1. Does "ambivalent relationship" mean"having a shallow relationship and not being sure about continuing or not continuing the relationship"?


2. Does "were media-literate" mean "knew the media well"?


3. Does "many became increasingly cynical about the real possibility of maintaining an oppositional position" mean"many of those artists were not sure if they could continue their oppositional attitudes in the media"?
