Ambiguity in sentence structure

I am having issues with my sentence:

If parked or operating in adverse conditions reduce the requirement interval as needed.

It's not necessary to reduce the interval just because it (a helicopter) is parked. Only if it is parked in adverse weather conditions. How can I restructure the sentence to remove the ambiguity while keeping it as short as possible?

How about just saying this?

In adverse conditions, reduce the requirement interval as needed.
