Amazing Grace

: : We've no less days to sing God's praise
: : then when we've first begun.

How to rewrite this?

We will have much time to sing God's praise (because we will go to heaven after death),

and what is this "then"?

Why><

Thx><

I have to think the word should have been "than," a comparison. There is as much time in 10,000 years to sing as there was when we started singing. There's no less time to sing than when we first started.

Hi guys,

: : We've no less days to sing ***'s praise
: : then when we've first begun.

This seems to me more like a reference to eternity that just to a long period like 10,000 years.

eg If you have eternity to learn English, then you can learn it for a million years and after that you will still have eternity to learn it.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing ***’s praise
Than when we’ve first begun.

If you look at the verse as a whole then Clive's explanation is very clear. No matter how long you sing ***'s praises, you still have an eternity to continue to do so.

I wasn't familiar with these lyrics so I

Just as a side note, the church that Harriet Beecher Stowe was sitting in when she had her inspiration to write Uncle Tom's Cabin was the church I'm a member of. She's rather celebrated in that town.
