Only I told my father I was moving to the USA is correct. There is no comma after 'father;.

Hmm. Aren't you the one who said you tend to backshift less often than other people?

I would be most inclined to say, "I told my father I was moving to the U.S."

However, if I have yet to move to the US, I would accept, "I told my father I am moving to the U.S."

We were told this happened two years ago. It seemed fairly natural to me to assume that the person had moved to the USA in the intervening two years..

Aarrgghh! Actually, not two years ago, but 2 years ago. That's what confused me so much.

If you are moving........, only "am" is logical! (even though "was" is often used!

This is a matter of grammar, not logic. Backshifting in reported speech is always grammatically correct. I normally do not backshift if the situation reported is still valid,, but this is simply personal preference.

In reported speech, is it OK to say as follows?
The teacher said that the Earth was round.

Yes. I think most people would say 'is', but 'was' is OK.
