Am I stressing correct words - Jazz Chants

Hi,

I am studying intonation patterns from “Jazz Chants” by Carolyn Graham.

Though the system is great, there is one small problem. The book doesn’t highlight the words that need to be stressed. While one can recognize most stressed words by listening to the accompanying audio tape, sometimes it becomes difficult to tell the stressed word from non-stressed words when they are uttered quickly and loudly.

Can you please verify if I have highlighted correct stress words?

1. I said, Sh! Sh! Baby is sleeping! (from Sh! Sh! Baby is Sleeping)

2. Not anymore (from Sh! Sh! Baby is Sleeping)

3. I can’t hear you (from Big Mouth John Brown)

4. He didn’t say anything (from Big Mouth John Brown)

5. Not a word (from Big Mouth John Brown)

6. It was falling on my shoes (from Rain)

7. I got soaking wet (from Rain)

8. I stayed outside (from Rain)

9. Sally speaks Spanish, but not very well.

10. He speaks very well (from How’s His English)

Thanks,

MG.

Mister Micawber I had to look at the book to determine some of those stresses.

I appreciate it. Thank you.

Mister Micawber3. I can't ''hear you
This is not clear to me. Why can't is not being stressed here?

In the context, 'hear' is so emphatic that the slight stress on the negation is barely noticeable, so I didn't mark it. That is another point you should recognize: there are not merely two levels of stress - it is a continuum.
