Am I right?

Hi,

Look at this text please:

From past trends, the odds might seem in favour of the top brands today still being up there in 25 years’ time. As the introduction to this book pointed out, over half of the 50 most valuable brands have been around for more than 50 years. However, it is difficult to see how past performance will give quite so much reassurance in the face of the extraordinary changes we are likely to see in world power and economics in the next ten years.

See if  I'm right with the bold part:

...past performance of the strongest brands will affect on their future faces.

Regards,
Nesa

Maybe it's better to change it a bit as "while confronting with big changes, their past performance will give an assurance for future benefits".

I'm no longer clear on what you are thinking, nesa, but the idea of the passage is that with the new kinds of economic changes happening these days, past performance may no longer be a reliable measure of future success.

Can you please tell me which part exactly implies that may no longer be a reliable measure of future success?
