Many people choose to drive their own cars or motorbikes, while many others opt to travel by public transport due to its great benefits such as environmental friendliness and reducing traffic problems; however, there are some drawbacks like inconvenience and uncomfortable which are the reasons why many people hesitate to go by this means of transportation.

Let's begin by looking at the advantages public transport provides. One of the major benefits is that it helps reduce carbon footprint released into the atmosphere. This is mostly because the more people travel by public transport, the less amount of carbon dioxide is generated. In addition, during rush hours people in big cities often face traffic issues because of the majority of people who drive their private vehicles home or to work. To solve this problem, the number of private vehicles must be reduced. Take cars for example. Instead of everyone owning a car, if people take public transport, you can imagine how fresh the air would be and the roads would never be in traffic congestion anymore.

Turning to the other side of the argument, there are some difficulties travelers may encounter when using public vehicles. The biggest may be their inconvenience. This is partly because public vehicles often go in their fixed lines or routes, so in many cases people must go a long way home from the public transport station or to take public vehicles. Another issue is that generally speaking public transport is far less comfortable than other means of transport. Take buses for example. In most of cases, people traveling by bus have to stand instead of having a seat because to reduce traveling costs, these vehicles are allowed to take much more passengers than the number of seats they offer. In addition, a bus also travels in its fixed routes as well.

In summary, there are clearly both pros and cons when it comes to public transportation. While this means of transportation is environmentally friendly and helps solve out traffic issues, people often feel uncomfortable and inconvenient when taking it.
