eg Always do your homework .

eg Do your homework every day.

Note every day. is two words here.

I disagree that there is anything wrong with the sentence (except "everyday" -> "every day" as noted"). I don't think it's saying the same thing twice.

Think about it like this. If you said "always do your homework", what would that mean? Every second of every day - never sleep - always do your homework? This does not make much sense. It's more useful to say how often to do your homework. Because clearly we are not going to be doing it always.

On the other hand, you could say "do your homework every day." That makes a lot more sense. That means once per day, without saying how long to spend on it.

Then we could make that a stronger statement by saying "do your homework every day without exception!" That means it's important never to skip a day. Or, in other words, "always do your homework", which means the same thing. "Always" means "without exception", basically. It just strengthens the meaning. The dictionary definition of "always" is "consistently" or "unfailingly". So it stresses that the homework must be done consistently. Every day is still required because you could just as easily write a sentence like "always do your homework every week", which obviously is different.
