Altitude or Elevation

Thanks for the answers, but any of them could dispel my doubts with these sentences.. so is there somebody more which can help with these sentences?
When should Altitude and Elevation be used?
Talking about flights.. is it altitud, isnt it?.
When are about peaks.. is ok altitude, isnt it?
Talking about houses or mountain shelters, i could say this shelter was built at an elevation- an altitud of 5000 ft .which one is used?.
When a person climbs.. i could say. He climbs a mountain of 5000 ft of altitude....
are they correct?..help pease.

Planes have altitude. Mountains have elevation. Buildings have height.

A mountain-climber's camp is at a certain elevation. When you're at the top of a skyscraper, you are a certain height above the ground or a certain number of stories up. A building is a certain number of feet or meters tall. A plane is at an altitude of so many feet or meters.
