Hi,
Although I know very well what 'cottage cheese' looks and tastes like I am still completely confused about the terms 'curd(s) cheese' and 'cheese curd(s)'. Which of the two is just another name for 'cottage cheese'?
Or maybe neither is?
There is an article name "cheese curd" in the wiki. And this article has the following subtitle/disclaimer/warning:
"This article is about cheese curds as a regional delicacy. .... Not to be confused with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curd_cheese." If you could help me with this survival-English vocabulary ...I'm a native English speaker in the US, and I've never heard "cottage cheese" referred to by any other name. "

Apparently, a historical name for cottage cheese was "curds and whey," that is, cheese curds and skim milk - there is a very famous nursery rhyme that goes: "Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet eating her curds and whey..."
