alternative expression for "giving birth"?í

Hi!
I'm looking for an alternative way, sort of poetic-like, to express a mother giving birth to a child, something like bringing into being/existence an other human being.
(I invented these latter ones, and don't know whether they exist or how common, in case they do.)
