Alternate

How can I say this? Suppose that in our town we are experiencing severe power cuts. We get electricity after every one hour. In other words, we live with electricity for one hour and then for another one hour we are left without it. The cycle goes on like this.

  1. Now, how many different ways can I express this?

  2. Can I say this using the word “alternate”?

  3. Is it correct to say: “We are experiencing power cuts on an alternate hour?”

Thanks.

I'd probably use "every alternate hour". It doesn't seem ok to me without "every".

Is it also okay to say: We are experiencing power cuts after every two hours?

Yes but the after seems redundant.
